Musnad Ahmad 11379 — Musnad of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّهُ شَكَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَاجَتَهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اصْبِرْ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ ، فَإِنَّ الْفَقْرَ إِلَى مَنْ يُحِبُّنِي مِنْكُمْ ، أَسْرَعُ مِنَ السَّيْلِ عَلَى أَعْلَى الْوَادِي ، وَمِنْ أَعْلَى الْجَبَلِ إِلَى أَسْفَلِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he complained of poverty to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Abu Saeed! Be patient, for indeed poverty and hardship rush towards those who love me even more swiftly than a flood flows from above downwards."
