حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ , حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ , وأَبي سَلَمةَ بنِ عبد الرحمن , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم " نَعَى النَّجَاشِيَّ لِأَصْحَابِهِ , ثُمَّ قَالَ : اسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ , ثُمَّ خَرَجَ بِأَصْحَابِهِ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى , فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ كَمَا يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْجَنَائِز " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed him of the death of Najashi and said, "Seek forgiveness for him." Then he went towards the Eidgah with his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and led the funeral prayer for him in the same manner as he would normally lead it.
