Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Bakhtari narrates that when the battle of Siffin intensified, Hazrat Ammar asked for a bowl of milk and drank it, and said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had told me that the last thing you will drink in this world will be milk.

Abdullah bin Sinan Asadi narrates that I saw Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) in the Battle of Siffin, and in his hand was the sword named Zulfiqar of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). We used to stay around him, but he would leave us behind; he would attack, then return, then attack again. Then he brought his sword, and it had been split into two pieces. He said, "This presents an excuse for you."

Hazrat Shu’bah says that I asked Hazrat Hakam whether Abu Ayyub participated in the Battle of Siffin? He replied that he did not participate in that, but he did participate in the Day of Nahr.

Yazid bin Asam reports that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the ruling concerning those killed at Siffin. He replied: "Both our slain and theirs are in Paradise; the matter remains between me and Muawiyah."
