Those who considered it disliked for the imam to pray nafl in the place of fard prayers

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that when the Imam finishes the prayer with salam, one should not perform nafl (supererogatory) prayers until he changes his place or speaks about something between the obligatory and nafl prayers.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) considered it undesirable for the Imam to offer nafl (supererogatory) prayers in the place of the obligatory prayers, but he did not see any harm in it for someone who is not the Imam.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) considered it disliked for the imam to offer nafl prayers in the same place where he had performed the obligatory prayer.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Laila considered it preferable that the Imam should not offer the voluntary prayer (nafl) at the same place where he has performed the obligatory prayer (fard).

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib and Hasan used to prefer that when the Imam finished the Salam, he should move forward.

Ibrahim considered it disliked for the imam to offer nafl prayers in the same place where he had performed the obligatory prayer.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Imam cannot offer a voluntary (nafl) prayer at the same place where he has led the people in prayer, until he changes his place or separates (the two prayers) by speaking.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib says that the Imam will change his place.

Ibrahim says that when the Imam has performed the obligatory prayer and wishes to offer a voluntary prayer, he should move from the place where he performed the obligatory prayer.
