Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 9268 — Those who disliked preceding Ramadan
٩٢٦٨ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن منصور عن ربعي عن رجل من أصحاب النبي ﷺ (قال: قال) (١) رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا تقدُمُوا الشهر إلا أن تروا الهلال أو تكملوا العدة، ولا تفطروا حتى تروا الهلال أو تكملوا العِدَّة" (٢).
A Companion narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not fast before Ramadan comes, until you see the moon or complete thirty days of Sha'ban. And do not celebrate Eid until you see the moon or complete thirty fasts.
