Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 8313 — His saying: "And do not be loud
٨٣١٣ - حدثنا (معاوية) (١) بن هشام] (٢) قال: حدثنا سفيان عن عياش العامري عن عبد اللَّه بن شداد قال: كان (أعراب) (٣) من بني تميم إذا سلم النبي ﷺ قالوا: اللهم ارزقنا مالا وولدا فنزلت: ﴿وَلَا تَجْهَرْ بِصَلَاتِكَ﴾ (٤) (٥).
Abdullah bin Shaddad said: It was the habit of the Bedouins of Banu Tamim that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer with the salam, they would say: "O Allah, grant us wealth and children." So this verse was revealed: "And do not be loud in your prayer, nor silent in it".
