Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 7913 — Those who held the view of standing
٧٩١٣ - حدثنا شبابة قال: ثنا ليث بن سعد عن ابن شهاب عن عروة عن عبد الرحمن بن عبدٍ القاري قال: خرج عمر بن الخطاب في شهر رمضان والناس يصلون قطعا فقال: لو جمعنا هؤلاء على قارئ واحد لكان خيرًا، فجمعهم على أبي بن كعب (١).
Abd al-Rahman bin Abd al-Qari says that Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw the people praying separately in Ramadan and said: It would be good if they prayed behind a single reciter. Then he gathered them behind Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him).
