Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 39367 — The acceptance of Islam by Jarir bin

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: When I came near Madinah, I made my camel kneel, then I opened my travel bag and put on my fine garment, and I went in while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon. I greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with peace, and the people began to stare at me. He said: I asked my companion: O servant of Allah, has the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned anything about my affair? He said: Yes, he (peace and blessings be upon him) has mentioned you in the best way. He said: While he (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering the sermon, he said during it: Soon there will enter upon you from this direction, or he said: from this door, the best of the people of Yemen. Behold, upon his face will be traces of royalty. Sayyiduna Jarir said: So I praised Allah for what He had bestowed on me.
