٣٦٩٣٣ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن نمير عن مالك بن مغول قال: كان في زبور في داود مكتوبا: إني أنا اللَّه لا إله إلا أنا ملك الملوك، قلوب الملوك بيدي، فأيما قوم كانوا على طاعة جعلت الملوك عليهم رحمة، وأيما قوم كانوا على معصية جعلت الملوك عليهم نقمة، (١) لا تشغلوا أنفسكم (بسب) (٢) الملوك ولا تتوبوا إليهم، توبوا إلي أعطف قلوبهم عليكم.
It is narrated from Malik that it was written in the Zabur: "I am Allah; there is no god but Me. I am the King of all kings. The hearts of all kings are in My grasp. So for the people who do good deeds I appoint kind kings over them, and for the people who disobey Me I make the kings a punishment upon them. Do not occupy yourselves with reviling the kings, and do not turn to them. Turn to Me and repent to Me, and I will make them kind towards you."
