٣٦٩١١ - حدثنا غندر عن شعبة عن يعلى بن عطاء قال: حدثني تميم بن غيلان (ابن) (١) سلمة عن أبي الدرداء (أنه) (٢) قال: أين أنت من يوم جيء بجهنم، ⦗٢٠٧⦘ قد سدت ما بين الخافقين، (وقيل) (٣): (لن) (٤) تدخل الجنة حتى تخوض النار، فإن كان معك نور استقام بك الصراط، فقد واللَّه نجوت وهديت، وإن لم يكن معك نور (تشبث) (٥) بك (خطاطيف) (٦) جهنم أو كلاليبها أو (شبا بينها) (٧)، فقد واللَّه (رديت) (٨) وهويت (٩).
Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Why are you not concerned about the day when Hell will be brought and will fill the space between the two horizons? On that day it will be said: 'You cannot enter Paradise until you wade through Hell.' If you have light with you, you will stand firm on the Sirat by means of it, and then, by Allah, you will be saved and guided. If you have no light, the hooks of Hell will seize you, and then, by Allah, you will perish and fall."
