Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 34839 — What they said on the Magians: are

Amr bin Dinar said that Bajalah (may Allah have mercy on him) was narrating to Amr bin Aws and Abu al-Sha'tha: I was the scribe of Jaz' bin Mu'awiyah (may Allah have mercy on him). Then a letter from Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us: "Kill every sorcerer and sorceress, separate every pair of mahram relatives among the Magians, and forbid them from zamzamah, that is, making a sound with the mouth closed during meals." Bajalah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: We killed three sorceresses, and we began to separate a man from his mahram woman according to the Book of Allah.
