٣٤٧٤٩ - حدثنا جرير عن قابوس عن أبيه قال: كان سلمان على قبض من قبض المهاجرين، فجاء إليه رجل بقبض كان معه فدفعه إليه، ثم أدبر فرجع إليه فقال: يا سلمان، إنه كان في ثوبي خرق فأخذتُ خيطا من هذا القبض فخطت به، قال: كل شيء وقدره، قال: فجاء الرجل فنشر الخيط من ثوبه، ثم قال: إني غني عن هذا (١).
The father of Qabus (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) was the overseer of a portion of the collected property of the Muhajirun, which had been obtained from the spoils. A man who had some of that property with him came to him and handed it over to him, then went away. After a little while he came back and said: "O Salman, there was a small tear in my garment, so I took a thread from this property and sewed the garment with it." He said: "Everything has its value." So the man came and pulled the thread out of his garment, then said: "I have no need even of this."
