Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 1925 — Wiping over the leather socks

Abu al-Ala said: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) sent us towards Siffin and appointed Sayyiduna Qays bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him), the servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), in charge of us. When we reached Maskin, Sayyiduna Qays urinated, then made ablution on the bank of the Tigris and wiped over his leather socks. I saw the marks of his fingers on his leather socks.
