Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 15813 — Combining Hajj and Umrah

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): What did you say when you made the intention for Hajj? Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: 'Allahumma inni uhillu bima ahalla bihi Rasuluka (peace and blessings be upon him)' (O Allah, I enter ihram for that for which Your Messenger has entered ihram). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have the sacrificial animal (hady) with me, so do not come out of ihram. The narrator said: All the people came out of ihram and had their hair shortened, except the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and those who had a sacrificial animal (hady) with them.
