Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 13421 — Those who disliked a person in ihram
١٣٤٢١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: ثنا ابن عيينة عن أيوب بن موسى عن نبيه بن (وهب) (١) أن عمر بن (عبيد اللَّه) (٢) بن معمر أراد أن ينكح وهو محرم، فأرسل إلى أبان بن عثمان (يسأله، فقال أبان: إن عثمان حدث) (٣) أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ قال: "المحرم لا ينكح ولا يخطبُ" (٤).
Umar bin Ubaydullah bin Ma'mar intended to marry while in the state of ihram. He sent someone to Aban bin Uthman, saying: Ask him. Aban said: Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that a person in ihram should neither marry nor send a proposal of marriage.
