حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّوْفَلِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، ثنا مَعْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى، ثنا فَائِدٌ، مَوْلَى عَبَّادٍ، عَنْ مَوْلَاهُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ سَلْمَى، قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُؤْخَذَ مِنْ رَأْسِ الطَّعَامِ»
Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) disliked that food be taken from the top (the peak) of it.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَوَالِي، حَدَّثَنِي فَائِدٌ، مَوْلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ سَلْمَى، وَكَانَتْ خَادِمًا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِذَا اشْتَكَى أَحَدٌ مِنَّا رَأْسَهُ قَالَ: «اذْهَبْ فَاحْتَجِمْ» وَإِذَا اشْتَكَى رِجْلَهُ قَالَ: «اذْهَبْ فَاخْضِبْهَا بِالْحِنَّاءِ»
Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her), who was a servant of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said: It was the practice of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that whenever one of us complained of pain in the head, he would say: "Go and get cupping done." And whenever someone complained of pain in the foot, he would say: "Go and apply henna to it."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، ثنا فَائِدٌ، مَوْلَى عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي سَلْمَى أُمُّ رَافِعٍ، قَالَتْ: «كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تُصِيبُهُ قَرْحَةٌ، وَلَا شَوْكَةٌ إِلَّا وَضَعَ عَلَيْهَا حِنَّاءَ»
Sayyidah Salma Umm Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would not suffer any wound or thorn except that he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) would apply henna to it.
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ سَلْمَى، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «بَيْتٌ لَا تَمْرَ فِيهِ لَا طَعَامَ فِيهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A house in which there are no dates, it is as if there is no food in that house."
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ نَشِيطٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، وَكَانَتْ خَادِمًا لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «بَيْتٌ لَا تَمْرَ فِيهِ جِيَاعٌ أَهْلُهُ»
Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her), who was a servant of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "A house in which there are no dates, its people are hungry."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا فَائِدٌ، مَوْلَى عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، أَنَّ جَدَّتَهُ سَلْمَى أَخْبَرَتْهُ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، وَعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَقَالُوا: صِفِي لَنَا طَعَامًا مِمَّا كَانَ يُعْجِبُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكْلُهُ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا بَنِيَّ إِذًا لَا تَشْتَهُونَهُ الْيَوْمَ، فَقُمْتُ " فَأَخَذْتُ شَعِيرًا فَطَحَنَتُهُ، ونَسَفْتُهُ وَجَعَلْتُ مِنْهُ خُبْزَةً وَكَانْ أَدْمَهَ الزَّيْتِ، وَنَثَرْتُ عَلَيْهِ الْفُلْفُلِ فَقَرَّبْتُهُ إِلَيْهِمْ، وَقُلْتُ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحِبُّ هَذَا "
Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I went to Hasan bin Ali, Abdullah bin Ja'far and Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), and they said: Describe to us the food that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked. I said: My sons, in that case you would not desire it today. So I got up, took barley, ground it and cleaned it, and made bread from it; its accompaniment was olive oil, and I sprinkled black pepper over it. Then I presented it to them and said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) liked this.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا فَائِدٌ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَّ جَدَّتَهُ سَلْمَى أَخْبَرَتْهُ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ أَبَا رَافِعٍ إِلَى بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ يَقْتُلُ الْكِلَابَ، وَبَعَثَ رَجُلًا آخَرَ بِقَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ
Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) to Banu Umayyah bin Zayd to kill the dogs, and he also sent another man to kill the dogs.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا فَائِدٌ، مَوْلَى عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، أَنَّ جَدَّتَهُ سَلْمَى، مَوْلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَتْهَا، أَنَّهَا صَنَعَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَزِيرَةً، وقَرَّبَتْها فَأَكَلَ وَمَعَهُ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، فَبَقِيَ مِنْهَا قَلِيلٌ، فَمَرَّ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَدَعَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَخَذَها الْأَعْرَابِيُّ كُلَّهَا بِيَدِهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «ضَعْهُ» ثُمَّ قَالَ: «سَمِّ اللهَ، وَكُلْ مِنْ أَدْنَاهَا تَشْبَعْ» فَشَبِعَ مِنْهَا وَفَضَلَتْ فَضْلَةٌ،
Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her), the freed slave-woman of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), reported that she made khazirah for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and presented it to him ((peace and blessings be upon him)), so he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) ate, and some of his Companions were with him ((peace and blessings be upon him)), and a little of it was left over. Then a Bedouin passed by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) called him. The Bedouin took hold of all of it with his hand, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Put it down." Then he said: "Say Bismillah (In the name of Allah), and eat from the part nearest to you; you will be satisfied." So he ate his fill of it, and some was still left over.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ، ثنا هِلَالُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَثْمَةَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الزَّمْعِيُّ، عَنْ فَائِدٍ، مَوْلَى عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، أَنَّ جَدَّتَهُ سَلْمَى أَخْبَرَتْهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهَا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَصَنَعَتْ لَهُ خَزِيرَةَ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ
Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her an order one day, so she made khazirah (a porridge of meat and flour) for him ((peace and blessings be upon him)). Then the narrator mentioned a hadith similar to the one about the Bedouin's eating.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا فَائِدٌ، مَوْلَى عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَّ جَدَّتَهُ سَلْمَى أَخْبَرَتْهُ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ إِلَى أَبِي رَافِعٍ بِشَاةٍ، وَذَلِكَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ فِيمَا أَعْلَمُ، فَصَلَاهَا أَبُو رَافِعٍ، وَجَعَلَهَا فِي مِكْتَلٍ ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ بِهَا، فَلَقِيَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَاجِعًا مِنَ الْخَنْدَقِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: «يَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ، نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ» فَنَاوَلْتُهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «يَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ، نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ» فَنَاوَلْتُهُ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «يَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ، نَاوِلْنِي الذِّرَاعَ» فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَلْ لِلشَّاةِ إِلَّا ذِرَاعَيْنِ؟، فَقَالَ: «لَوْ سَكَتَّ لَنَاوَلْتَنِي مَا سَأَلْتُكَ»
Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a goat to Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him), and that was on the day of the Trench, as far as I know. Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) roasted it, put it in a basket and set off with it, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) met him while returning from the Trench. He ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said to him: "O Abu Rafi', give me the foreleg." So I gave it to him ((peace and blessings be upon him)). Then he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "O Abu Rafi', give me the foreleg." So I gave it to him ((peace and blessings be upon him)). Then he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "O Abu Rafi', give me the foreleg." So he said: O Messenger of Allah, does a goat have more than two forelegs? He ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "Had you kept quiet, you would have kept giving me whatever I asked for."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الرَّافِعِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الرَّافِعِيُّ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ سَلْمَى، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: إِنِّي لَمَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْأَسْوَاقِ فَقَالَ: «لَيَطْلُعَنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ» إِذْ سَمِعْتُ الْخَشْفَةَ، فَإِذَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ
Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the markets, and he ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "A man from the people of Paradise will now come to you." Just then I heard the sound of footsteps, and I saw that it was Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him).
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّاقِدُ، قَالَا: ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: جَاءَتْ سَلْمَى امْرَأَةُ أَبِي رَافِعٍ تَشْكُو زَوْجَهَا أَبَا رَافِعٍ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، يَضْرِبُنِي، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا لَكَ وَلَهَا؟» فَقَالَ: إِنَّهَا تُؤْذِينِي، فَقَالَ لَهَا: «بِمَ تُؤْذِينَهُ؟» فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّهُ خَرَجَتْ مِنْهُ رِيحٌ، وَقَامَ يُصَلِّي، فَقُلْتُ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنْهُ رِيحٌ فَلْيُعِدِ الْوُضُوءَ» فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ: «لَا تَضْرِبْهَا»
Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Sayyidah Salma (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of Abu Rafi', came complaining about her husband Abu Rafi', and said: O Messenger of Allah, he beats me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Abu Rafi': "What is the matter between you and her?" He said: She hurts me. He ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said to Salma: "How do you hurt him?" She said: O Messenger of Allah, he passed wind and then stood up to pray, so I said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has said: "Whoever passes wind should repeat the ablution (wudu)." At this the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said: "Do not beat her."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ، ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مِسْمَارٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ سَلْمَى أُمِّ بَنِي أَبِي رَافِعٍ، مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَخْبِرْنِي بِكَلِمَاتٍ وَلَا تُكْثِرْ عَلَيَّ، فَقَالَ: " قُولِي: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ عَشَرَ مِرَارٍ يَقُولُ اللهُ: هَذَا لِي، وَقُولِي سُبْحَانَ اللهِ عَشْرَ مِرَارٍ يَقُولُ اللهُ: هَذَا لِي، وَقُولِي اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي يَقُولُ: قَدْ فَعَلْتُ، فَتَقُولِينَ عَشْرَ مِرَارٍ وَيَقُولُ: قَدْ فَعَلْتُ "
Sayyidah Salma Umm Bani Abi Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with her) said: O Messenger of Allah, tell me some words, and do not burden me with too much. He ((peace and blessings be upon him)) said: "Say: Allahu akbar (Allah is the Greatest), ten times; Allah says: This is for Me. And say: Subhan Allah (Glory be to Allah), ten times; Allah says: This is for Me. And say: O Allah, forgive me, and Allah says: I have forgiven. You will say this ten times, and He will say: I have forgiven."
