It is narrated from Sayyidah Juwayriyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by her early in the morning while she was in the mosque engaged in supplication. Then he passed by her again near midday and saw that she was still in the same state. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Are you still in the same state?" She said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not teach you words that are equal to freeing slaves, or equal to them in weight: 'Subhan Allahi adada khalqihi' (Glory be to Allah, as many times as the number of His creation) (three times), 'Subhan Allahi rida nafsihi' (Glory be to Allah, as much as pleases Him) (three times), 'Subhan Allahi zinata arshihi' (Glory be to Allah, as much as the weight of His Throne) (three times), 'Subhan Allahi midada kalimatihi' (Glory be to Allah, as much as the ink of His words)." Her name was previously Barrah, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) named her Juwayriyah.

It is narrated from Sayyidah Juwayriyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by her when he (peace and blessings be upon him) had prayed the Fajr prayer, or after it, while she was engaged in the remembrance of Allah. Then the day advanced and she was still in that state. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Since I got up from you, I have said some words three times each that are greater and heavier, or weightier, than what you have said: 'Subhan Allahi adada khalqihi' (Glory be to Allah, as many times as the number of His creation), 'Subhan Allahi rida nafsihi' (Glory be to Allah, as much as pleases Him), 'Subhan Allahi zinata arshihi' (Glory be to Allah, as much as the weight of His Throne), 'Subhan Allahi midada kalimatihi' (Glory be to Allah, as much as the ink of His words)."
