It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to me and said: "What is the matter, that I see you weak and emaciated?" I said: I drank a medicine with which I loosen my bowels. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is it?" I said: Shubrum (a strong purgative herb). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What do you have to do with shubrum? It is hot and sharp. Use senna (sana) and sannut, for in them both is a cure for every disease except death."
