It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No woman should ask for her sister's divorce in order to take for herself everything in her dish, for her provision is the responsibility of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."

It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to her, wrapped up his cloak, placed it on the threshold of the door, leaned upon it and said: "Umm Salamah! Do you have any inclination?" She replied: I am a woman of intense jealousy, and I fear that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) may see something in me that he dislikes. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) went away, then came back again and said: "Umm Salamah! Do you have any inclination? If you want an increase in your dowry (mahr), we will increase it." She repeated the same words. At this Umm Abd said: Umm Salamah! Do you know what the women of Quraysh are saying? They say that Umm Salamah turned down Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) only because she wants some young man of Quraysh who is younger than him and has more wealth. (Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her)) said: So I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) married me.
