حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: " خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ، حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا بِالْبَيْدَاءِ أَوْ بِذَاتِ الْجَيْشِ انْقَطَعَ عِقْدِي، فَأَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْتِمَاسِهِ، وَأَقَامَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ، وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ مَاءٌ، فَأَتَى النَّاسُ إِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَقَالُوا: مَا نَرَى مَا صَنَعَتْ عَائِشَةُ أَقَامَتْ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِالنَّاسِ وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ مَاءٌ، فَعَاتَبَنِي وَقَالَ لِي مَا شَاءَ اللهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ، وَجَعَلَ يَطْعَنُ بِيَدِهِ فِي خَاصِرَتِي، فَلَا يَمْنَعُنِي مِنَ التَّحَرُّكِ إِلَّا مَكَانُ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى فَخِذِي، فَنَامَ حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ عَلَى غَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ آيَةَ التَّيَمُّمِ، فَقَالَ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ: مَا هِيَ بِأَوَّلِ بَرَكَتِكُمْ يَا آلَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، فَبَعَثْنَا الْبَعِيرَ الَّذِي كُنْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَوَجَدْنَا الْعِقْدَ تَحْتَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on one of his journeys, until, when we were at al-Bayda' or at Dhat al-Jaysh, my necklace broke and fell. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed there to search for it, and the people stayed with him (peace and blessings be upon him), though they had no water with them. The people came to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "Do you see what Aishah has done? She has held back the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the people here, though they have no water." So Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) rebuked me and said whatever Allah willed him to say, and he began jabbing me in my side with his hand, but nothing stopped me from moving except that the head of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was resting on my thigh. He (peace and blessings be upon him) slept until morning came without ablution, and Allah revealed the verse of tayammum. At this, Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O family of Abu Bakr, this is not your first blessing." Then we raised the camel on which I had been riding, and we found the necklace beneath it.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَوْ غَيْرُهُ، قَالَ: سَقَطَ عِقْدُ عَائِشَةَ، فَأَرْسَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفَرًا يَبْتَغُونَهُ، فَأَدْرَكَهُمُ الصُّبْحُ وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُمْ مَاءٌ فَصَلُّوا بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ، فَشَكَوْا ذَلِكَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَنَزَلَ التَّيَمُّمُ "، قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَيُّوبُ، قَالَ: مَرَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِعَائِشَةَ، فَقَالَ: حَبَسْتِ النَّاسَ وَعَنَّيْتِيهُمْ، قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: وَقَالَ هِشَامٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، وَقَالَهُ أَيُّوبُ أَيْضًا، فَلَمَّا نَزَلَ التَّيَمُّمُ سُرَّ بِذَلِكَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَقَالَ: مَا عَلِمْتُكِ لَمُبَارَكَةٌ مَا نَزَلَ بِكِ أَمْرٌ تَكْرَهِينَهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللهُ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ فِيهِ خَيْرًا
Hisham bin Urwah narrates from his father, or from someone else: The necklace of Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) fell, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent some men to search for it. Morning came upon them while they had no water, so they prayed without purification. Then they complained about that to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the verse of tayammum was revealed. Ma'mar said: Ayyub told me that Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) passed by Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and said: "You have held the people back and caused them hardship." Ma'mar said: Hisham narrated from his father, and Ayyub also said the same, that when the verse of tayammum was revealed, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was pleased by it and said: "I did not know how blessed you are! No matter you dislike befalls you except that Allah places some good in it for the Muslims."
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا اسْتَعَارَتْ قِلَادَةً مِنْ أَسْمَاءَ فَسَقَطَتْ مِنْ عُنُقِهَا، فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَرْسَلَ رِجَالًا يَبْتَغُونَهَا فَابْتَغَوْهَا، فَوَجَدُوا فَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَصَلَّوْا بِغَيْرِ طُهُورٍ، ثُمَّ رَجَعُوا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ الرُّخْصَةَ، فَقَالَ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ: جَزَاكِ اللهُ خَيْرًا، فَوَاللهِ مَا نَزَلَ بِكِ أَمْرٌ تَكْرَهِينَهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ اللهُ لَكِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ خَيْرًا
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she had borrowed a necklace from Sayyidah Asma' (may Allah be pleased with her), and it fell from her neck. She mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) sent some men to search for it; they searched and found it, but meanwhile the time of prayer came, so they prayed without purification. Then they returned to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned this, and Allah revealed the concession. At this, Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "May Allah reward you with good! By Allah, no matter you dislike befalls you except that Allah places good in it for you and for the believers."
