حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَيْلِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، يَقُولُ: خَرَجَ الْحُسَيْنُ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَرْضَهُ الَّتِي بِظَاهِرِ الْحَرَّةِ، وَنَحْنُ نَمْشِي إِذْ أَدْرَكْنَا النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ فَنَزَلَ، فَقَرَّبَهَا إِلَى الْحُسَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: ارْكَبْ يَا عَبْدَ اللهِ، فَكَرِهَ ذَلِكَ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَقْسَامِ النُّعْمَانِ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى أَطَاعَ لَهُ الْحُسَيْنُ بِالرُّكُوبِ قَالَ: أَمَا إِذْ أَقْسَمْتَ فَقَدْ كَلَّفْتَنِي مَا أَكْرَهُ فَارْكَبْ عَلَى صَدْرِ دَابَّتِكَ، فَسَأُرْدِفُكَ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَقُولُ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الرَّجُلُ أَحَقُّ بِصَدْرِ دَابَّتِهِ وَصَدْرِ فِرَاشِهِ وَالصَّلَاةِ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ إِلَّا إِمَامًا يَجْمَعُ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهِ» فَقَالَ النُّعْمَانُ: صَدَقَتْ بِنْتُ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولَ اللهِ، سَمِعْتُ أَبِي بَشِيرًا يَقُولُ كَمَا قَالَتْ: فَاطِمَةُ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ َ: «إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ فَرَكِبَ حُسَيْنٌ عَلَى السَّرْجِ وَرِدْفُهُ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ»
Muhammad bin Ali bin Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) set out towards his land that was on the outskirts of al-Harrah, and we were walking when we caught up with Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him), who was riding a mule. He dismounted, brought it near to Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Ride, O servant of Allah! He disliked that, but Nu'man kept adjuring him by oaths until Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) agreed to ride. He said: Since you have adjured me, you have obliged me to do something I dislike. You ride on the front of your mount and I will ride behind you, for I heard Fatimah bint Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man has the greatest right to the front of his mount, the head of his bed, and to lead the prayer in his own house, except for an imam with whom the people gather." Nu'man said: The daughter of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has spoken the truth. I heard my father Bashir say the same as what Fatimah said, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Except for the one who is given permission." So Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) rode on the saddle, and the Ansari (Sayyiduna Nu'man, may Allah be pleased with him) sat behind him.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا جَنْدَلُ بْنُ وَالْقٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْمَازِنِيُّ، عَنْ عَبَّادٍ الْكَلْبِيِّ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ فَاطِمَةَ الصُّغْرَى، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ: خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَشِيَّةَ عَرَفَةَ فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ بَاهَى بِكُمْ وَغَفَرَ لَكُمْ عَامَّةً وَلِعَلِيٍّ خَاصَّةً، وَإِنِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ إِلَيْكُمْ غَيْرُ مُحَابٍ لِقَرَابَتِي، هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ يُخْبِرُنِي أَنَّ السَّعِيدَ حَقٌّ، السَّعِيدُ مَنْ أَحَبَّ عَلِيًّا فِي حَيَاتَهِ وَبَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ، وَإِنَّ الشَّقِيَّ كُلُّ الشَّقِيِّ مَنْ أَبْغَضَ عَلِيًّا فِي حَيَاتِهِ وَبَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ»
Sayyidah Fatimah bint Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us on the evening of Arafah and said: "Allah has boasted of you and has forgiven you in general, and Ali in particular. I am the Messenger of Allah to you, and I do not show favouritism to my relatives. This is Jibril telling me that the truly fortunate one is he who loves Ali during his life and after his death, and the wretched, utterly wretched one is he who hates Ali during his life and after his death."
