حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ، ثنا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْعَطَّارُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ، فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ رَجَعْتُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَلَا تَغَدَّى» ، قُلْتُ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ، قَالَ: «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ، إِنَّ اللهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصَّوْمَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umayyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came back from a journey to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he (peace and blessings be upon him) was about to eat, I turned to leave, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Will you not have the meal?" I said: I am fasting. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Shall I not tell you about the traveller? Allah has relieved him of fasting and half of the prayer."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَاجِرِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ الضَّمْرِيِّ، قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا ذَهَبْتُ لِأَخْرُجَ قَالَ: «انْتَظَرِ الْغَدَاءَ يَا أَبَا أُمَيَّةَ» ، قُلْتُ: إِنِّي صَائِمٌ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ: «أُخْبِرُكَ عَنِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِنَّ اللهَ وَضَعَ عَنْهُ الصِّيَامَ وَنِصْفَ الصَّلَاةِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umayyah al-Damri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I came back from a journey to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and greeted him (peace and blessings be upon him) with salam. When I was about to leave, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Umayyah! Wait for the meal." I said: O Prophet of Allah! I am fasting. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I will tell you about the traveller: Allah has relieved him of fasting and half of the prayer."
