حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، ثَنَا وُهَيْبُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ أَحَبَّكُمْ إِلَيَّ وَأَقْرَبَكُمُ مِنِّي فِي الْآخِرَةِ مَجَالِسَ أَحَاسِنُكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا، وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَكُمْ إِلَيَّ وَأَبْعَدَكُمْ مِنِّي فِي الْآخِرَةِ مَسَاوِئِكُمْ أَخْلَاقًا الثَّرْثَارُونَ الْمُتَشَدِّقُونَ الْمُتَفَيْقِهُونَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The dearest of you to me and the closest of you to me in seating in the Hereafter are those of you who are best in character, and the most hateful of you to me and the farthest of you from me in the Hereafter are those of you who are worst in character: the chatterers, those who speak affectedly, and those who show off arrogance in knowledge."
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ فَرَضَ فَرَائِضَ فَلَا تُضَيِّعُوهَا، وَنَهَى عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ فَلَا تَنْتَهِكُوهَا، وَحَدَّ حُدُودًا فَلَا تَعْتَدُوهَا، وَغَفَلَ عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ نِسْيَانٍ فَلَا تَبْحَثُوا عَنْهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty has laid down certain obligations, so do not neglect them; He has forbidden certain things, so do not violate them; He has set certain limits, so do not transgress them; and He has kept silent about certain things, not out of forgetfulness, so do not go digging into them."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ، ثَنَا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ،، عَنِ الْأَحْوَصِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ،، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «يَطْلُعُ اللهُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ لَيْلَةَ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فَيَغْفِرُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَيُمْهِلُ الْكَافِرِينَ، وَيَدَعُ أَهْلَ الْحِقْدِ بِحِقْدِهِمْ حَتَّى يَدْعُوهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha'labah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty turns to His servants on the fifteenth night of Sha'ban; He forgives the believers, gives respite to the disbelievers, and leaves the people of rancour with their rancour until they call upon Him (Allah)."
