حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ بْنِ مُطَيَّبٍ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُلَيْمُ بْنُ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَبِي الْخَطَّابِ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ قَالَ: لَمَّا أَسْلَمْتُ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ لِي: «اذْهَبْ فَاغْتَسَلْ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ وَأَلْقِ عَنْكَ شَعْرَ الْكُفْرِ»
Sayyiduna Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When I became Muslim, I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Go and take a bath (ghusl) with water and lote-tree leaves, and remove from yourself the hair of disbelief."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ بْنِ مُطَيَّبٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنْ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: لِلْمَرْأَةِ الَّتِي تَكُونُ تَحْتَهُ: «عَلَيْكِ السَّكِينَةَ وَالْوَقَارَ»
Sayyiduna Wathilah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say to the woman who was married to him: "Adopt calm and dignity."
