Amr bin Murrah (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned, through Alqamah bin Wa'il, from his father (Wa'il bin Hujr, may Allah be pleased with him), concerning the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raising his hands for the prayer. Husayn said: At this Ibrahim (al-Nakha'i) said: I do not know; perhaps Wa'il never saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) except on that one day, so how did he remember this when Abdullah (bin Mas'ud) and his companions did not remember it? Did he know the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) better than Abdullah? (The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)) only raised his hands at the opening of the prayer.

Amr bin Murrah (may Allah have mercy on him) relates: I entered the mosque of Hadramawt, and there was Alqamah bin Wa'il narrating from his father: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to raise his hands before the bowing (ruku') and after it." I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and he became angry and said: He saw it, and Ibn Mas'ud and his companions did not see it?!

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): when he stood for the prayer he raised his hands, and when he raised his head from the bowing (ruku') he did the same."
