It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him); he said: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at his (peace and blessings be upon him) halting place. I followed him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Where did you leave the people?" I said: I left them at such-and-such a place. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) made his mount kneel and dismounted, then went away and disappeared from my sight. He stayed away for as long as it takes a man to relieve himself, then came back and said: "Do you have water with you?" I said: Yes. So I poured water over his (peace and blessings be upon him) hands, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his face and hands and wiped his head. He (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing a Syrian cloak with tight sleeves, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) put his hand in from beneath the cloak and lifted it (the cloak) off his hands, then washed his hands and face, and wiped over his head and his leather socks. Then he said: "Do you need anything?" I said: No. He said: Then we mounted and rode until we caught up with the people.
