Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A woman was brought to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) who had struck her co-wife with a post (of wood) and killed her, and also killed the child in her womb. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed the blood money of the (slain woman) upon the 'asabah (paternal relatives) of the (killer) woman, and for the fetus he gave the judgement of a ghurrah - a male or female slave. Then a man from among the people stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, how can we pay blood money for one who neither ate nor drank, neither screamed nor cried out? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This man speaks like the soothsayers. For it there is a ghurrah (compensation) in the form of a male or female slave."

Warrad, the freed slave of Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates that Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to him asking what he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So he wrote: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Indeed, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has disliked three things for you: disobedience to mothers, burying daughters alive, and withholding while demanding; and idle talk (hearsay), asking too many questions, and wasting wealth."
