Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Mughirah! Stay behind; and O people! Go on ahead." He said: Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) went and relieved himself, and I brought a vessel of water. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished, I poured water from it, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his face. Then he went to bring his hands out of the Roman cloak, but the sleeves of the cloak were tight, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) brought his hands out from beneath the cloak and washed them, then wiped over the leather socks, then prayed.
