حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ غَزَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَزْوَةَ تَبُوكٍ، فَتَبَرَّزَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قِبَلَ الْغَائِطِ، فَحَمَلْتُ مَعَهُ بِإِدَاوَةٍ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ، فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيَّ أَخَذْتُ أُهَرِيقُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الْإِدَاوَةِ، «فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ، ثُمَّ تَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ، ثُمَّ غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ، ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ يُخْرِجُ جُبَّتَهُ عَنْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فَضَاقَ كُمَّا جُبَّتِهِ، فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَيْهِ فِي الْجُبَّةِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ» ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ فَأَقْبَلْتُ مَعَهُ حَتَّى نَجِدَ النَّاسَ قَدْ قَدَّمُوا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ يُصَلِّي لَهُمْ، فَأَدْرَكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِحْدَى الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ فَصَلَّى مَعَ النَّاسِ الرَّكْعَةَ الْآخِرَةَ، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُتِمُّ صَلَاتَهُ، فَأَفْزَعَ ذَلِكَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَأَكْثَرُوا التَّسْبِيحَ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاتَهُ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «أَحْسَنْتُمْ» أَوْ قَالَ: «أَصَبْتُمْ» ، يَغْبِطُهُمْ أَنَّ صَلُّوا الصَّلَاةَ لِوَقْتِهَا قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ: فَحَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَزَادَ: قَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ: فَبَادَرْتُ لَأُخْبِرَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «دَعْهُ» . فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he took part in the expedition of Tabuk with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went towards low ground to relieve himself. (Al-Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) said:) I went with him (peace and blessings be upon him), carrying a vessel of water, before the Fajr prayer. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came back to me, I began pouring water from the vessel over his (peace and blessings be upon him) hands. He (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his hands three times, then rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose, then washed his face. Then he went to bring his forearms out of the cloak, but the sleeves were tight, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) put his hands inside the cloak up to the elbows, then performed ablution (by wiping) over his leather socks. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) went forward and I went with him until we found that the people had put Abdul Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) forward to lead them in prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) caught one of the two rak'ahs, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed the last rak'ah with the people. When Abdul Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) had concluded with salam, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up to complete the rest of his prayer. This alarmed the Muslims, and they began saying tasbih abundantly. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had completed his prayer, he turned to them and said: "You did well," or he said: "You did right" - commending them for having prayed the prayer at its proper time.
Ibn Shihab said: Isma'il bin Muhammad bin Sa'd narrated to me from Hamzah bin al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah a hadith like the hadith of Abbad bin Ziyad, and added in it: Al-Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I hurried to inform Abdul Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave him." Then he mentioned something similar.
Ibn Shihab said: Isma'il bin Muhammad bin Sa'd narrated to me from Hamzah bin al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah a hadith like the hadith of Abbad bin Ziyad, and added in it: Al-Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I hurried to inform Abdul Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave him." Then he mentioned something similar.
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ كَامِلٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ»
Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution (wudu) and wipe over the leather socks.
