حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا عَمِّي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَعْلَى، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْوَرَّاقُ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَعْلَى الْأَسْلَمِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ الشَّامِيِّ، عَنْ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْثَدٍ الْغَنَوِيِّ - وَكَانَ بَدْرِيًّا - قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنْ سَرَّكُمْ أَنْ تُقْبَلَ صَلَاتُكُمْ، فَلْيَؤُمَّكُمْ خِيَارُكُمْ، فَإِنَّهُمْ وَفْدُكُمْ فِيمَا بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَ رَبِّكُمْ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Marthad bin Abi Marthad al-Ghanawi (may Allah be pleased with him) - who was one of the Companions who fought at Badr - that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If it pleases you that your prayer be accepted, then let the best of you lead you in prayer, for they are your representatives between you and your Lord."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْخُشَنِيُّ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَوْنٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ مَرْثَدٍ، - وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ: «خَطَّ اللهُ خَطَّيْنِ فِي كِتَابِهِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ الْقَلَمَ وَكَتَبَ فِي أَحَدِهِمَا الْخَلْقَ، وَكَتَبَ فِي الْآخَرِ مَا الْخَلْقُ عَامِلُونَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Marthad (may Allah be pleased with him) - who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) - he said: "Allah drew two lines in His Book, then He raised the pen; in one of them He wrote the creation, and in the other He wrote what the creation will do."
