Sayyiduna al-Miqdam bin Ma'di Karib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made several things unlawful on the day of Khaybar, among them domestic donkeys and other things."
Then he said: "Soon there will be a man reclining on his couch who, when my hadith is narrated to him, will say: 'Between us and you is the Book of Allah; whatever we find lawful in it we will treat as lawful, and whatever we find unlawful we will treat as unlawful.' Indeed, what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) has made unlawful is just like what Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has made unlawful."
