حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَا: ثنا وَكِيعٌ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْزُوقٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَإِذَا حَلْقَةٌ فِيهَا كُهُولٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَإِذَا شَابٌّ فِيهِمْ أَكْحَلُ الْعَيْنِ، بَرَّاقُ الثَّنَايَا، كُلَّمَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِي شَيْءٍ يَرُدُّوهُ إِلَى الْفَتَى، فَقُلْتُ لِجَلِيسِي: مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ: مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الْمُتَحَابُّونَ فِي اللهِ عَلَى مَنَابِرَ مِنْ نُورٍ فِي ظِلِّ عَرْشِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلُّهُ»
Abu Muslim al-Khawlani (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I came to the mosque of Damascus and saw a circle in which some elderly men from among the Companions of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) were sitting, and among them was a young man whose eyes looked as if lined with kohl and whose teeth gleamed. Whenever they differed over something, they referred it back to this young man. So I asked the person sitting with me: Who is this? He said: Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Those who love one another for the sake of Allah will be upon pulpits of light in the shade of the Throne of the Most Merciful, on the day when there is no shade except His shade."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْزُوقٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الْمُتَحَابُّونَ فِي ظِلِّ الْعَرْشِ يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلُّهُ، عَلَى مَنَابِرَ مِنْ نُورٍ، يَغْبِطُهُمْ بِمَكَانِهِمُ النَّبِيُّونَ وَالصِّدِّيقُونَ»
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Those who love one another (for the sake of Allah) will be in the shade of the Throne on the day when there is no shade except His shade, upon pulpits of light; the prophets and the truthful ones (siddiqun) will admire them for their station."
