حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ خَلَفٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ الضَّبِّيُّ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَصَدَّقَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِثُلُثِ أَمْوَالَكُمْ عِنْدَ وَفَاتِكُمْ زِيَادَةً فِي حَيَاتِكُمْ لِيَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ زَكَاةً فِي أَعْمَالِكُمْ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that he said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has given you as charity one third of your wealth at the time of your death, as an increase to (the deeds of) your life, so that it may become a means of purification for you in your deeds."
حَدَّثَنَا وَرَدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاتِكَةِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ «يُوَضِّئُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قَدَحٍ مُضَبَّبٍ بِنُحَاسٍ، وَيَسْقِيهِ فِيهِ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to help the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform ablution from a vessel that had been patched with copper, and he used to give him water to drink from it.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا وَرَدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ الْبَيْرُوتِيُّ، ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَا: ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاتِكَةِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «رَأْسُ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ الْإِسْلَامُ، وَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ سَلِمَ وَعَمُودُهُ الصَّلَاةُ، وَذُرْوَةُ سَنَامِهِ الْجِهَادُ، لَا يَنَالُهُ إِلَّا أَفْضَلُهُمْ»
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah al-Bahili (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The head of this matter is Islam, and whoever accepts Islam is safe; its pillar is prayer, and the peak of its hump is jihad, and none attains it except the best of them."
