Al-Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Muhammad bin Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah have mercy on him) used to narrate; he said: It reached Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) was narrating that soon there would be a king from Qahtan. Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) became angry; he stood up and praised Allah as He deserves, then said: To proceed: It has reached me that some men among you narrate things that are neither in the Book of Allah nor transmitted from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and that is nothing but your ignorance. So beware of wishful fancies that lead those who hold them astray, for I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "This matter (of leadership) will remain in Quraysh, and no one will show enmity to them but Allah will throw him on his face, as long as they establish the religion."
