حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «أَطْوَلُ النَّاسِ أَعْنَاقًا الْمُؤَذِّنُونَ»
Isa bin Talhah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The muezzins will be the people with the longest necks."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، أَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ، قَالَ: دَخَلْنَا عَلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ فَنَادَى الْمُنَادِي لِلصَّلَاةِ، فَقَالَ: اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ، فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ كَمَا قَالَ، فَقَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، فَقَالَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ أَيْضًا، فَقَالَ: أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللهِ، فَقَالَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ»
Ibn Ibrahim bin al-Harith al-Taymi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Isa bin Talhah (may Allah have mercy on him), who said: We went in to Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), and the caller called to prayer. He said: "Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar," and Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said the same. Then he said: "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah," and he said the same. Then he said: "I bear witness that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah," and he said the same. Then he said: "This is how I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say it."
