حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ثنا بِسْطَامُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: " عَبَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بُرْهَةً مِنْ دَهْرِنَا، وَمَا لَنَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَانِ: التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ "
Sayyiduna Qurrah bin Iyas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We spent a period of our lives with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and we had nothing to eat except the two black things: dates and water.
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا بِسْطَامُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: «يَا بُنَيَّ» إِذَا كُنْتَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ تَرْجُو خَيْرَهُ، فَعَجَّلَتْ بِكَ حَاجَةٌ، فَقُلْتَ: السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ، فَإِنَّكَ شَرِيكُهُمْ فِيمَا يُصِيبُونَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْمَجْلِسِ "
Sayyiduna Qurrah bin Iyas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O my son! When you are in a gathering whose good you hope for, and then some need compels you to leave it quickly, say (as you leave): As-salamu alaykum (peace be upon you), for in this way you will share with them in whatever reward they receive in that gathering.
