حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ نَائِلَةَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ نَصْرِ بْنِ الْحَذَّاءِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا شَبَابٌ الْعُصْفُرِيُّ، ثنا عَوْنُ بْنُ كَهْمَسَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُدَيْرٍ، ثنا رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ مُقَاتِلٌ، عَنْ قُطْبَةَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ السَّدُوسِيُّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: «يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ابْسُطْ يَدَكَ أُبَايِعْكَ عَلَى نَفْسِي، وَعَلَى ابْنَتِي الْحُوَيْصِلَةِ، وَلَوْ كَذَبْتُ عَلَى اللهِ خَدَعَكَ» ، قَالَ: وَحَمَلَ عَلَيْنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ فِي خَيْلَهِ، فَقُلْنَا: إِنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ، فَتَرَكَنَا، وَغَزَوْنَا مَعَهُ الْأُبُلَّةَ، فَقَسَمْنَاهَا فَمَلَأْنَا أَيْدِينَا
Sayyiduna Qutbah bin Qatadah al-Sadusi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: O Messenger of Allah! Extend your hand; I pledge allegiance to you on behalf of myself and my daughter al-Huwaysilah, and if I were to lie against Allah, that would be deception (that is, this pledge is from a sincere heart). He said: Then Khalid bin al-Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) attacked us with his cavalry, and we said: We are Muslims. So he left us, and we took part with him in the campaign of al-Ubullah. We divided the spoils and filled our hands.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ السُّكَّرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ سَوَاءٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَوَاءٍ، ثنا عِمْرَانُ الْقَطَّانُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ بَنِي سَدُوسٍ، عَنْ قُطْبَةَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُفْطِرُ إِذَا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ»
Sayyiduna Qutbah bin Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) break his fast as soon as the sun set.
