حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبِي، ثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، فِي تَسْمِيَةِ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي بَيَاضَةَ فَرْوَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو وَقَدْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا
Urwah (bin al-Zubayr), naming those of the Ansar who attended the pledge of Aqabah, then from Banu Bayadah: Farwah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), who also took part in the Battle of Badr.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ حَرَامِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جَابِرٍ: " عَنْ جَابِرٍ: «إنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَبْعَثُ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ مِن بَنِي بَيَاضَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ فَرْوَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو فَيَخْرُصُ ثَمَرَةَ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to send a man of the Ansar from Banu Bayadah, called Farwah bin Amr, and he would estimate the fruit of the people of Madinah.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سَهْلٍ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ: «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَبْعَثُ فَرْوَةَ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يَخْرُصُ النَّخْلَ، فَإِذَا دَخَلَ الْحَائِطَ حَسَبَ مَا فِيهِ مِنَ الأَفْنَاءِ، ثُمَّ ضَرَبَ بَعْضَهَا عَلَى بَعْضٍ عَلَى مَا يَرَى فِيهَا، وَلَا يُخْطِيءُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to send Sayyiduna Farwah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) to estimate the date palms. When he entered an orchard, he would count the varieties in it, then multiply some by others according to what he saw in them, and he would not err.
