حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ شُفَيٍّ، عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ: «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُنَا بِتَسْوِيَةِ الْقُبُورِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order us to level the graves.
حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ، ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا عَلِيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيَّ، أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى فَضَالَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدٍ أَمَرَ بِقُبُورِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، فَسُوِّيَتْ بِأَرْضِ الرُّومِ وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «سَوُّوا قُبُورَكُمْ»
Abu Ali al-Hamdani narrates that he saw Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) order that the graves of the Muslims in the land of the Romans be levelled, and they were levelled. He said: "I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Level your graves.'"
حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ مِقْلَاصٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ ثُمَامَةَ بْنَ شُفَيٍّ، حَدَّثَهُ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ بِأَرْضِ الرُّومِ فَتُوُفِّي صَاحِبٌ لَنَا فَأَمَرَ فَضَالَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ بِقَبْرِهِ فَسُوِّيَ، وَقَالَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «يَأْمُرُ بِتَسْوِيَتِهَا»
Thumamah bin Shufayy (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: We were with Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) in the land of the Romans when a companion of ours died, so Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered that his grave be levelled. He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say it, ordering that graves be levelled."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو إِبْرَاهِيمَ السِّيَائِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَلِيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ، عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «سَوُّوا الْقُبُورَ عَلَى وَجْهِ الْأَرْضِ إِذَا دَفَنْتُمْ»
Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you bury (the dead), level the graves with the surface of the ground."
