Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A woman came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah, she has committed zina (adultery). She repeated this several times, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Which of you will give this woman shelter?" A man said: I will, O Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take her away and give her respite, and when she has given birth, bring her to me." So he brought her to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) after she had given birth, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the order and she was stoned. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "Come forward and pray over her." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah, do you pray over her? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "She has repented with such a repentance that, if seventy of the people of Madinah repented like it, it would be accepted from them."
