Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 15658 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: It

حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، ثنا كَثِيرُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ وَسَّاجٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «كَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ مِنَ الْإِثْمِ أَنْ يُشَارَ إِلَيْهِ بِالْأَصَابِعِ» قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَإِنْ كَانَ خَيْرًا؟ قَالَ: «وَإِنْ كَانَ خَيْرًا فَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُ إِلَّا مَنْ رَحِمَ اللهُ، وَإِنْ كَانَ شَرًّا فَهُوَ شَرٌّ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is enough sin for a man that people point at him with their fingers." It was said: O Messenger of Allah, even if the pointing is for good? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if it is for good, it is evil for him, except for the one on whom Allah has mercy; and if it is for evil, then it is evil."
