حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْأَنْمَاطِيُّ، ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الضَّبِّيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ الْكِنَانِيُّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللهِ مِنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى طَبْعٍ، وَمِنْ طَمَعٍ إِلَى غَيْرِ مَطْمَعٍ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Seek refuge with Allah from greed that leads to rust (on the heart) and disgrace, and from greed that leads to something that cannot be attained."
حَدَّثَنَا طَلَبُ بْنُ قُرَّةَ الْأَدْنَى، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الطَّبَّاعُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقَطِرَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللهِ مِنْ طَمَعٍ يَهْدِي إِلَى طَبْعٍ، وَمِنْ مَطْمَعٍ يَرُدُّ إِلَى طَمَعٍ، وَمِنْ طَمَعٍ إِلَى غَيْرِ مَطْمَعٍ»
