حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْعَلَّافُ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، أَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ، يَقُولُ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْكَيِّ، وَكَانَ يَكْرَهُ شُرْبَ مَاءِ الْحَمِيمِ، وَكَانَ إِذَا اكْتَحَلَ اكْتَحَلَ وِتْرًا، وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ اسْتَجْمَرَ وِتْرًا»
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade cauterisation, and he disliked drinking hot water; and when he applied kohl he applied it an odd number of times, and when he cleaned himself after relieving himself he used an odd number of stones."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِذَا اكْتَحَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَكْتَحِلْ وِتْرًا، وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ فَلْيَسْتَجْمِرْ وِتْرًا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When one of you applies kohl, let him apply it an odd number of times; and when he cleans himself after relieving himself, let him use an odd number of stones."
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ «إِذَا اكْتَحَلَ اكْتَحَلَ وِتْرًا، وَإِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ اسْتَجْمَرَ وِتْرًا»
