حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ أُخِذَ يَوْمَ قُرَيْظَةَ فَكَانُوا «يَقْتُلُونَ مَنْ أَنَبْتَ وَيَتْرُكُونَ مَنْ لَمْ يُنْبِتْ، فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ تُرِكَ»
Sayyiduna Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was among those who were captured on the day of (Banu) Qurayzah. They would look (for the sign of puberty): whoever had grown pubic hair they would kill, and whoever had not grown it they would leave. I was among those who were left.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ، أَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ عَطِيَّةُ: كُنْتُ فِي سَبْيِ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَنَبْتَ فَدَعُوهُ، فَنَظَرُوا فَلَمْ يَرَوْا شَيْئًا فَخَلَّوْا سَبِيلِي»
Sayyiduna Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was among the captives of Banu Qurayzah, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has not grown pubic hair, leave him." So they looked and did not find anything on me, and they let me go.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شُعَيْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَيُّوبَ صَاحِبُ الْمَغَازِي، ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ قَالَ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَمَرَ بِقَتْلِ كُلِّ مَنْ أَنَبْتَ مِنْ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ، وَكُنْتُ غُلَامًا فَوَجَدُونِي لَمْ أُنْبِتْ فَخَلَّوْا سَبِيلِي»
Sayyiduna Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had ordered that everyone from Banu Qurayzah who had grown pubic hair be killed. I was a boy; they examined me and my hair had not grown, so they let me go.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ
A similar hadith is also narrated from Sayyiduna Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with him).
حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيَّ، يَقُولُ: «كُنْتُ يَوْمَ حَكَمَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ فِي بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ غُلَامًا فَنَظَرُوا إِلَى مُؤْتَزَرِي فَلَمْ يَجِدُونِي أَنْبَتُّ، فَهَا أَنَا ذَا بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ»
Sayyiduna Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: On the day Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) gave his judgement concerning Banu Qurayzah, I was a boy. They looked beneath my waist-wrapper and my hair had not grown, and so today I am here among you.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ، قَالَ: كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ حَكَمَ فِيهِ سَعْدٌ، أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ «يَقْتُلَ مُقَاتِلُهُمْ وَتُسْبَى ذَرَارِيُّهُمْ» قَالَ: فَجِيءَ بِي وَلَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا سَيَقْتُلُنِي، قَالَ: فَكَشَفَ عَنْ عَانَتِي فَنَظَرُوا إِلَيْهَا فَوَجَدُوهَا لَمْ تَخْرُجْ فَجَعَلُونِي فِي السَّبْيِ "
Sayyiduna Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was among those about whom Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) gave judgement. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had ordered that their fighting men be killed and their offspring be taken captive. He said: I was brought forward and I thought I would be killed. Then my pubic area was examined, and they found that hair had not come out there, so they placed me among the captives.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبِي، ثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ قَالَ: «كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ حَكَمَ عَلَيْهِ سَعْدٌ فَشَكُّوا فِيَّ، أَمِنَ الْمُقَاتِلَةِ أَنَا أَمْ مِنَ الذُّرِّيَّةِ، فَنَظَرُوا إِلَى عَانَتِي فَوَجَدُوهَا لَمْ تَطْلُعْ فَأَلْقُونِي فِي الذُّرِّيَّةِ»
Sayyiduna Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was among those about whom Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) had given judgement. They were in doubt about me, whether I was among the fighting men or among the children. So they examined my pubic area and hair had not come out there, so they counted me among the children.
حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطِيَّةُ الْقُرَظِيُّ قَالَ: «عُرِضَتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَمَنَ قُرَيْظَةَ، فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنَّا مُحْتَلِمًا أَوْ نَبَتَتْ عَانَتُهُ قُتِلَ، فَنَظَرُوا إِلَيَّ فَلَمْ أَكُنْ نَبَتَتْ عَانَتِي فَتُرِكْتُ»
Sayyiduna Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: At the time of the event of Banu Qurayzah, I was presented before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The order was that whoever among us had reached puberty or had grown pubic hair was to be killed. They examined me and my pubic hair had not grown, so I was left.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الرَّقِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الرُّؤَاسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، وَأَبُو حَنِيفَةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْأَهْوَازِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرُ بْنُ مُدْرِكٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ، قَالَ: «كُنْتُ فِي السَّبْيِ عُرِضْتُ فِيمَنْ عُرِضَ مِنَ السَّبْيِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُونِي أَنْبَتُّ فَأُرْسِلْتُ»
Sayyiduna Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was among the captives. In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I was presented along with the captives, and they saw that my pubic hair had not grown, so I was let go.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ، قَالَ: «عُرِضْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ قُرَيْظَةَ، فَلَمْ يَجِدُونِي أَنْبَتُّ فَخَلَّوْنِي»
Sayyiduna Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: On the day of Banu Qurayzah I was presented before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and they saw that my hair had not grown, so I was let go.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ قَالَ: «كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ عُرِضَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ قُرَيْظَةَ، فَشَكُّوا فِيَّ فَنَظَرُوا إِلَى عَانَتِي لَمْ تَنْبُتْ، فَخُلِّيَ سَبِيلِي»
Sayyiduna Atiyyah al-Qurazi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: On the day of Banu Qurayzah, I was among those presented before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). They were in doubt about me, so they examined my pubic area; the hair had not grown, so I was let go.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الطَّالَقَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا، فِي مَسْجِدِ الْكُوفَةِ يَقُولُ: «كُنْتُ يَوْمَ حَكَمَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ فِي بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ غُلَامًا فَشَكُّوا بِي فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا الْمُوسَى جَرَتْ عَلَيَّ فَاسْتُبْقِيتُ»
Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I heard a man in the mosque of Kufah saying: "On the day Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) gave his judgement concerning Banu Qurayzah, I was a boy. They were in doubt about me, and they found that the razor had not passed over me (that is, hair had not yet grown), so I was kept alive."
