It is narrated from Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his Companions: "Stand up and fight." Then a man was struck by an arrow, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This one has made Paradise obligatory (for himself)."

Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered his Companions to fight, and one of them was struck by an arrow. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This one has made Paradise obligatory (for himself)." And when he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered them to fight, they said: O Messenger of Allah, we will not say as the Children of Israel said to Musa (peace be upon him): "Go, you and your Lord, and fight," to the end of the verse; rather, we say: Go, you and your Lord, and fight; we are with you both, among those who fight.
