حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ الْكِنْدِيِّ قَالَ: خَطَبَنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْنَاهُ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى عَمَلٍ فَكَتَمَنَا مِخْيَطًا فَمَا فَوْقَهُ فَهُوَ غُلٌّ يَأْتِي بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» ، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أسْوَدُ كَأَنِّي أنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ الْآنَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، اقْبَلْ عَنِّي عَمَلَكَ قَالَ: «وَمَا ذَاك؟» قَالَ: سَمِعْتُكَ تَقُولُ الَّذِي قُلْتَ آنِفًا: قَالَ: «وَأَنَا أَقُولُ مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْنَاهُ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى عَمَلٍ فَجِيءَ بِقَلِيلِهِ وَكَثِيرِهِ، فَمَا أُوتِيَ مِنْهُ أَخَذَ، وَمَا نُهِيَ عَنْهُ انْتَهَى»
Sayyiduna Adi bin Amirah al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed us and said: "O people! Whoever among you we appoint to a task, and he then conceals from us a needle or anything greater than that, it is embezzlement which he will bring with him on the Day of Resurrection." At this a black man from the Ansar stood up - it is as though I am looking at him even now - and said: O Messenger of Allah! Take back your assignment from me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is the matter?" He said: It is what I heard you (peace and blessings be upon him) say just now. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And I still say it: whoever among you we appoint to a task, let him bring all of it, little and much; then whatever he is given from it he may take, and whatever he is forbidden he should refrain from."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبِي، ثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ
Sayyiduna Adi bin Amirah al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrated a similar hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ الْكِنْدِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْنَاهُ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى عَمَلٍ فَلْيَجِئْ بِقَلِيلِهِ وَكَثِيرِهِ، فَمَا أُوتِيَ مِنْهُ أَخَذَ، وَمَا نُهِيَ عَنْهُ انْتَهَى»
Sayyiduna Adi bin Amirah al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever among you we appoint to a task, let him bring all of it, little and much; then whatever he is given from it he may take, and whatever he is forbidden he should refrain from."

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ الْكِنْدِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْنَاهُ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى عَمَلٍ فَغَلَّنَا مِخْيَطًا أَوْ مَا فَوْقَهُ كَانَ غُلًّا يَأْتِي بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» ، فَقَامَ إِلَيهِ رَجُلٌ أسْوَدُ مِنَ الْأَزْدِ كَأَنِّي أنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، اقْبَلْ عَنِّي عَمَلَكَ قَالَ: «وَمَا لَكَ؟» فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُكَ تَقُولُ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ: وَأَنَا أَقُولُهُ الْآنَ: «مَنِ اسْتَعْمَلْنَاهُ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى عَمَلٍ فَلْيَجِئْ بِقَلِيلِهِ وَكَثِيرِهِ، فَمَا أُوتِيَ مِنْهُ أَخَذَ، وَمَا نُهِيَ عَنْهُ انْتَهَى»
Sayyiduna Adi bin Amirah al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Whoever among you we appoint to a task, and he then embezzles from us a needle or anything more than that, it is embezzlement which he will bring with him on the Day of Resurrection." At this a black man from the tribe of Azd stood up - it is as though I am looking at him - and said: O Messenger of Allah! Take back your assignment from me. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What is wrong with you?" He said: I heard you (peace and blessings be upon him) say such and such. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I still say it now: "Whoever among you we appoint to a task, let him bring all of it, little and much; then whatever he is given from it he may take, and whatever he is forbidden he should refrain from."
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ دُحَيْمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبِي، ثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْفَزَارِيُّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الجذوعي، ثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ، ثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ دَلَوَيْهِ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي عُتْبَةَ، كُلُّهُمْ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْعَسَّالُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ، ثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عُمَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ قَالَا: ثَنَا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ عَلَى الْفَضْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، عَنْ ابْنِ حَرِيزٍ، أَنَّ قَيْسَ بْنَ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَدِيَّ بْنَ عُمَيْرَةَ الْكِنْدِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا سَجَدَ جَافَى حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Adi bin Amirah al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prostrated, he kept his arms so far apart (from his sides) that the whiteness of his (peace and blessings be upon him) armpits could be seen.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ الْكِنْدِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الثَّيِّبُ تُعْرِبُ عَنْ نَفْسِهَا، وَالْبِكْرُ رِضَاهَا صَمْتُهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Adi al-Kindi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A previously married woman (thayyib) expresses (her wishes) about herself, and the consent of a virgin is her silence."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثَنَا عَارِمٌ أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ ثَنَا، جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، ثَنَا عَدِيُّ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ، ثَنَا رَجَاءُ بْنُ حَيْوَةَ، وَالْعُرْسُ بْنُ عُمَيْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، قَالَ: كَانَ بَيْنِ امْرِئِ الْقَيْسِ وَبَيْنَ أَحَدٍ خُصُومَةٌ فَاخْتَصَمَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَ الْحَضْرَمِيَّ الْبَيِّنَةَ، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ بَيِّنَةٌ، فَقَضَى عَلَى امْرِئِ الْقَيْسِ بِالْيَمِينِ، فَقَالَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إنْ أَمْكَنْتَهُ مِنَ الْيَمِينِ ذَهَبَتْ وَاللهِ أَرْضِي، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ كَاذِبًا لَقِيَ اللهَ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ» قَالَ رَجَاءُ بْنُ حَيْوَةَ: فَتَلَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا} [آل عمران: ٧٧] الْآيَةَ، قَالَ امْرُؤُ الْقَيْسِ: فَمَاذَا لِي إنْ تَرَكْتُهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ: «الْجَنَّةُ» ، قَالَ: فَإِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ أَنِّي تَرَكْتُهَا
Abu Adi said: There was a dispute between Imru' al-Qays and a man, so the two of them brought their case to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked the Hadrami for evidence, but he had no evidence, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled that Imru' al-Qays should take an oath. The Hadrami said: O Messenger of Allah! If you allow him to take the oath, by Allah, my land is gone. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears a false oath will meet Allah while He is angry with him." Raja' bin Haywah said: Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse: "Indeed, those who sell the covenant of Allah and their oaths for a small price" (to the end of the verse) [Surah Al Imran: 77]. Imru' al-Qays said: O Messenger of Allah! What will I get if I give it up? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Paradise." He said: Then I take you as my witness that I have given it up.
