حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْمِكْيَالُ مِكْيَالُ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ، وَالْوَزْنُ وَزْنُ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The (standard) measure is the measure of the people of Madinah, and the (standard) weight is the weight of the people of Makkah."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، قَالَا: ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالَا: ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، قَالَ: دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ، فَقَالَ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ» وَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: «حَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
Tawus narrated: A man came to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and asked him about nabidh al-jarr (nabidh made in earthenware jars), and he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade nabidh al-jarr." Sulayman bin Harb said in his narration: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared it unlawful."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، سَنَةَ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ وَمِائَتَيْنِ إِمْلَاءً ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ، قَالَا: سَمِعْنَا طَاوُسًا، يَقُولُ: جَاءَ وَاللهِ رَجُلٌ إِلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ: «أَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ
Tawus narrated: By Allah, a man came to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbid nabidh al-jarr? He said: Yes.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ: «أَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ؟» قَالَ: نَعَمْ حَلَفَ لَنَا طَاوُسٌ بِاللهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ مِنَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
Tawus narrated: A man came to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbid nabidh al-jarr? He said: Yes. Tawus swore to us by Allah that he had heard this himself from Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both).
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ بَكَّارِ بْنِ وَيْهَكَ، عَنْ خَلَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ: سَأَلَ طَاوُسًا عَنِ الشَّرَابِ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الْجَرِّ، وَالدُّبَّاءِ»
Khallad bin Abd al-Rahman narrated that he asked Tawus about drinks (the vessels of nabidh), and he informed him on the authority of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the jarr (earthenware jar) and the dubba' (gourd vessel).
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أنا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَهُ فَقَالَ: " أَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَنْ يُنْبَذَ فِي الْجَرِّ، وَالدُّبَّاءِ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ "
Ibn Tawus narrated through his father that a man came to Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbid making nabidh in the jarr and the dubba'? He said: Yes.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَرَّمَ نَبِيذَ الْجَرِّ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared nabidh al-jarr unlawful.
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ: سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ حَائِضًا: فَقَالَ: أَتَعْرِفُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَإِنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ حَائِضًا فَذَهَبَ عُمَرُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ الْخَبَرَ «فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُرَاجِعَهَا» ، قَالَ: لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ يَزِيدُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ
Tawus narrated that he heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) being asked about a man who divorced his wife while she was menstruating. He said: Do you know Abdullah bin Umar? He said: Yes. He said: He divorced his wife while she was menstruating, so Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and told him (peace and blessings be upon him) about it, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered him to take her back. Tawus said: I did not hear him say anything more than that.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ، ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السَّمْتِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ النُّورِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ لَيْثٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَوْلَعْتُهُمْ بِعَمَّارٍ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ، وَيَدْعُونَهُ إِلَى النَّارِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have set them upon Ammar; he calls them to Paradise and they call him to the Fire."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ أَبِي تَوْبَةَ النُّمَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ مِنْ كَرَامَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِ عَلَى اللهِ نَقَاءَ ثَوْبِهِ، وَرِضَاهُ بِالْيَسِيرِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Part of the honour of the believer with Allah is that his clothing is clean and that he is content with little."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ: " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: سَبَّقَ بَيْنَ الْخَيْلِ فَأَرْسَلَهَا مِنَ الْحَيْفَاءِ فَكَانَ أَمَدُهَا إِلَى ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ، وَسَابَقَ بَيْنَ الْخَيْلِ الَّتِي لَمْ تَضْمُرْ، وَكَانَ أَمَدُهَا مِنَ الثَّنِيَّةِ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) held a horse race: he sent them off from al-Hayfa', and their finishing point was Thaniyyat al-Wada'. He also held a race for the horses that had not been conditioned, and their course was from the Thaniyyah to the Mosque of Banu Zurayq.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْفَسَوِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى الْمَقَابِرِيُّ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، يَقُولُ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَنْفِرَ الرَّجُلُ حَتَّى يَكُونَ آخِرُ عَهْدِهِ بِالْبَيْتِ إِلَّا الْحُيَّضَ رَخَّصَ لَهُنَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنْ يَنْفِرْنَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade a man to depart until his last contact is with the House (the Ka'bah), except menstruating women, to whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) granted a concession to depart.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا فِطْرُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَوَاحِدَةً»
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The night prayer is two rak'ahs at a time; then if you fear the coming of dawn, pray one rak'ah."
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، وَابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا يَحِلُّ لِرَجُلٍ يُعْطِي عَطِيَّةً، أَوْ يَهَبُ هِبَةً، فَيَرْجِعُ فِيهَا إِلَّا الْوَالِدُ فِيمَا يُعْطِي وَلَدَهُ، وَمَثَلُ الَّذِي يُعْطِي الْعَطِيَّةَ، ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ فِيهَا كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ يَأْكُلُ فَإِذَا شَبِعَ فَأَتَمَّ عَادَ فِي قَيْئِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is not lawful for a man to give a gift or make a present and then take it back, except a father in what he gives to his child. The likeness of the one who gives a gift and then takes it back is that of a dog which eats, then when it is full it vomits, and then returns to its vomit."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ الْعِجْلِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، رَفَعَهُ قَالَ: «لَا تُبَاعُ الثَّمَرَةُ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), attributing it to the Prophet (marfu'), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fruit is not to be sold until its ripeness becomes evident."
