It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever establishes the prayer, gives the zakah, performs Hajj to the House, fasts in Ramadan and honours the guest, will enter Paradise."

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Abu Jahl said: If I see Muhammad praying behind the Maqam (of Ibrahim) again, I will attack him. Then he was told: There he is, praying behind the Maqam. So he went towards him, then turned back and said: By al-Lat and al-Uzza, it became dark between me and him because of armies. Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Had he moved (forward), the angels would have seized him. Then he recited this verse: "So let him call his associates; We will call the angels of punishment" [Al-Alaq: 18].
