حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ خَيَّاطٍ، ثنا حُبَابُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الدَّارِمِيُّ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، قَالَ: «بِتُّ عِنْدَ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ فَنَامَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ، فَتَوَضَّأَ وَاسْتَاكَ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مِرَارًا»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I stayed the night with my maternal aunt Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) slept, then woke up, performed ablution and used the miswak, and he kept doing so several times throughout the night.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، ثنا خَلِيفَةُ، ثنا حُبَابٌ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «السِّوَاكُ يُطَيِّبُ الْفَمَ، وَيُرْضِي الرَّبَّ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The siwak is something that purifies the mouth and pleases the Lord."
