Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to us: "Soon there will come people who recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass out of the religion as an arrow passes through the game. Glad tidings to the one who kills them, and glad tidings to the one whom they kill." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) turned to me and said: "Listen, they will emerge in your land, O Tihami! They will fight between the rivers." I said: May my father and mother be ransomed for you, there are no rivers there. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There soon will be."
